OMG, it's been so long since my last post...I can't believe it's now time to say, HAPPY HOLIDAYS! :) Just goes to show how busy we've been with school, another baseball season (Go Red Sox!), Halloween festivities (M&M was a UH Baseball Player & Cheerleader), Thanksgiving and now Christmas (School Programs, Keiki Art Show, Gingerbread Houses, City Lights, Parties, Pearl Ridge Train Ride, etc.)! Here's a small recap of what we've been up to...enjoy! :)

Wow, didn't realize it's been 4 months since my last post!!! My how time flies when you're having fun & BUSY! So, since it'll be too hard to do separate posts, I'm going to slack off and do one post from where I left off until now :)

We had so much going on in the last months...we celebrated another Easter, MANY MANY birthday parties, including Makoa's 6th Birthday in May, the end of another school year for both Mehana and Makoa (Mehana will be in her 2nd year at Pali Preschool & Makoa starts 1st Grade next week) - Mehana's May Day Program & Makoa had his first drama play in Kindergarten and his class did "Goldilocks and the Three Bears"...it was the cutest, the 50th State Fair & Father's Day! :) Enjoy!

Next time, I'll be posting some pix from our visit with the Ransome's from Colorado!

Since Makoa is a huge fan of baseball, Aunty Kara hooked us up with some UH baseball tickets. Makoa even got the chance to go out onto the field for the national anthem. He absolutely loved it and can't wait to go again. Thanks again Aunty Kara...and for the goodie bags with the UH pom poms, they were a hit!

Mommy & Mehana had their first splurge for a mother-daughter bonding experience...Mehana got a mani-pedi! She chose red with glitter for Christmas...too bad it started coming off the very same week she got it done. Oh well, so much for that...her next one will be when she's way older and can take care of her nails! :)

Keola and I got to take a trip withOUT the kiddies this past October. Thankfully to the g'parents this was possible. We decided to go to Texas since my sister-in-law is there and Keola is a huge Dallas Cowboys fan so we needed to check out the new stadium. We also decided on a side trip to New Orleans. Makoa had a great time celebrating his 5th birthday with his Pali Preschool friends as well as family/friends at our home with an elephant themed party! We even had the Tumble Bus come over and the kids loved it! I still can't believe he's 5 already....my how time flies!!!!!

Hilo Trip - Spring Break 2009

We decided to go on a small get-away with the kids for Spring Break. We figured Hilo was our attempt to see if the kids would be ready to go to Disneyland next year......ah, NO! Jus' kidding...they were a handful, but they also enjoyed themselves. We did too as we spent Keola's birthday there as well as our 6th anniversary. All in all, it was a great mini family vacation! Enjoy our pix!!!!

I can't believe Mehana turned the big - 3 on March 8!!!! We celebrated by taking her and Makoa to Chuck E. Cheese then having a nice birthday dinner at Pa & Gramma's house. Pa & Gramma got her a cool pink and white scooter and Gramma even made her a homemade dobash cake. We then had a family/friends get together to celebrate her birthday. Aunty Jo & Uncle Kenji got her the bike she's been asking for! All in all it was all about Mehana and everyone had a great time! Thanks to everyone for celebrating with us :)

This year we had 2 Christmas parties....one with my co-workers and one with my dearest girl friends. the kids enjoyed halloween this year carving their pumpkins with daddy then went trick-or-treating with the yoshikawa's dressed up as an airline pilot and a fairy princess. we also stopped by the honma's and played some halloween games. they were so happy with all their candy! :) thanks to everyone who shared their halloween treats with us! happy halloween!

Makoa's preschool had a field trip to Aloun Farms Pumpkin Patch. He had so much fun hunting for pumpkins with his friends and riding the hay ride. It was hot and the pumpkins were heavy, but in the end the kids had so much fun, I guess it was all worth it?!!! :)

Here are some pictures from our vacation in Colorado - boy, did the kids have so much fun!

They got to ride 4 airplanes, go to the Denver Aquarium, Denver Zoo, ride a Merry-Go-Round, go to Bruswick Bowl so they could go bowling, visited the play ground by Aunty Cheryl's house, celebrate Gram's birthday, go to Chuck E. Cheese (might I say Colorado's one is alot bigger and cleaner than the one in Pearl City), go to Water World, go on the Georgetown Train Ride (even if it was only for 5 seconds since the train broke), swim in Aunty Cheryl's pool and of course SHOPPING!

Oh and yes, can't forget the main reason we headed over to Colorado - we celebrated Brittney's graduation :)

The kids really love going to the beach so lately we've been making it a point to go and let them play in the sand and water. Mehana rushes the water with her tube while Makoa is still testing the water out and is only up to his waist. Either way they always have tons of fun and never want to leave! As many of you have already heard, the inevidible happened...Makoa cut Mehana's hair! Yes, I was devastated! He cut a chunk off the side so we took her to get some professionally done BANGS! Oh well, they say bangs are in and at the end of the whole fiasco, it actually came out cute and most of all, Mehana's likes it - she no longer has her hair in her eyes! We celebrated Mehana's birthday at our home with family and friends. It was a yellow/Disney Princess themed party. We rented an inflatable jumper for the kids that was a huge hit! It was an entire day all about Mehana - we even drank "Mehana" beer! Happy 2nd Birthday Mehana!

They also had fun riding the Pearl Ridge Express Train, went to see the lights around the neighborhood and Makoa even got to visit up close with santa :)

Makoa & Mehana attended Families for R.E.A.L. (Resources for Early Education and Learning) this past fall. They both enjoyed the pre-school prep classes and most of all their teacher, Ms. Lyn. Both continue these classes until they attend "big kids" pre-school next year.
