Hilo Trip - Spring Break 2009

We decided to go on a small get-away with the kids for Spring Break. We figured Hilo was our attempt to see if the kids would be ready to go to Disneyland next year......ah, NO! Jus' kidding...they were a handful, but they also enjoyed themselves. We did too as we spent Keola's birthday there as well as our 6th anniversary. All in all, it was a great mini family vacation! Enjoy our pix!!!!
Our hotel - the Hilo Hawaiian
First stop - 2 Ladies Mochi for their ONO strawberry mochi with azuki bean...YUMMY!
Day 2 - Kilauea Volcano National Park

Thurston Lava Tube

At the Volcano House - you can actually see the volcano's smoke...the kids were so amazed!
Rainbow Falls
Akaka Falls
Richardson Black Sand Beach - The water was cold, but that didn't stop the kids from playing in the black sand. They loved playing in it and swimming with the turtles. What an AWESOME experience!
Coconut Island

What fun we had in Hilo........the end..........

Love, the Goo's.....till next time......

HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY MEHANA!

I can't believe Mehana turned the big - 3 on March 8!!!! We celebrated by taking her and Makoa to Chuck E. Cheese then having a nice birthday dinner at Pa & Gramma's house. Pa & Gramma got her a cool pink and white scooter and Gramma even made her a homemade dobash cake. We then had a family/friends get together to celebrate her birthday. Aunty Jo & Uncle Kenji got her the bike she's been asking for! All in all it was all about Mehana and everyone had a great time! Thanks to everyone for celebrating with us :)

Mommy with all of Mehana's very special aunties! :)

Quinn's Birthday Party at "What's Up Gymnastics"

Makoa got invited to yet another of his Pali Preschool friend's birthday parties. This one was especially fun since the entire family was invited and M&M could ride the zip lines. Here's some pix from that fun night...

.arts & crafts.

we try to do as many cheap, but creative activities at home to amuse the kids. this time around daddy made them caterpillars out of egg cartons. makoa especially loved them as he's learning all about butterflies at school. thanks dad for a fun activity!

...another visit to the zoo...

we took the kids for another visit to the zoo and yes, they enjoyed it - especially the elephants! it's always nice to walk around and get the kids out of the house. the weather has been cool so it was extra nice that day! enjoy!

.Valentine's 2009.

We spent Valentine's this year with the kids. Keola made us a picnic dinner at the park during sunset. It was a breezy cold night, but we made the most of it and had fun anyway! Thanks Dad! :)

WHAT IS SHE WEARING?!!!!!!

Typical Mehana.......this is how she keeps herself occupied while we're at work! She cracks us up!!!!! :) Stresses me out though....I try to give her some fashion sense. I guess I need to try harder...
